Francesco Tafuri is a member of SEEQC’s scientific advisory board. Francesco received his PhD in physics from the University of Napoli Federico II. He was a visiting scientist at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center and was awarded a Fulbright grant. He is currently a professor at the University of Napoli Federico II after his role as an assistant and associate professor at Seconda Unversità di Napoli.
Francesco is a worldwide expert on the Josephson effect; his research has been used in all types of superconducting qubit research. Fancesco has made internationally acknowledged contributions on the physics of the Josephson effect and vortex matter in high critical temperature superconductors.
Francesco is a member of the panel on quantum technologies for the National Italian Research Plan (PNR). He serves as a Peer Reviewer of National and European projects. He is the associate editor of the Journal of Superconductivity-Springer, a reviewer of several scientific journals, a chair and co-chair of several international conferences as well as a member of several international committees. He is National Coordinator of the Italian PhD program on “Quantum Technologies,” and he is promoting a new Master Program on “Quantum Science and Engineering” at the University of Napoli.
